The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday said that Severe Cyclonic Storm 'Montha' has weakened into a Cyclonic Storm over the coastal Andhra Pradesh and will maintain the intensity of cyclonic storm during the next six hours.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Tuesday that 11,396 people have been evacuated and 30 Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRF) personnel and five teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed.
According to the MHA release, during the financial year 2025-26, the Central Government has already released Rs. 15,554 crore to 27 States under SDRF and Rs. 2,267.44 crore to 15 States under NDRF. In addition, Rs. 4,571.30 crore have been released from the State Disaster Mitigation Fund

As Cyclone Montha intensifies and is set to make landfall on the Andhra Coast on Tuesday night, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has pre-deployed 22 teams across likely-affected coastal districts in multiple states.
As Cyclone Montha moves closer to the eastern coast, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to take immediate action to safeguard lives and minimize damage in coastal areas.
