The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday summoned Maharashtra Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief and MLA Jayant Patil to appear before the agency on May 22, in a case concerning alleged irregularities in scam-hit Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS).
AIUDF MLA and party General Secretary Aminul Islam told ANI that, recently a delegation team of AIUDF led by party chief Badruddin Ajmal met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav and NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
Addressing a joint press conference with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Sharad Pawar said that the country's present conditions suggest that if the opposition parties work together, there will be support for the alternative the country needs.
Speaking to media persons on Sunday, Pawar said the parents of several of these stranded students met him at his residence in Baramati, requesting his intervention in ensuring their rescue.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar, who withdrew his decision to quit as party chief on Friday, also refuted speculations of a rift in the NCP. However, Pawar also said that if anybody wants to leave, nobody can stop them.
"Pawar Saheb has taken the decision. He still stands by his decision for now. However, people from all over Maharashtra and other places are requesting him to take back his decision," said Patil while addressing a press conference.
