Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Monday lauded the state police and armed forces for neutralising a wanted naxal with a bounty of Rs 12 lakh and announced rewards for the forces.
The incident was reported in Orchha police station limits about 65 km away from district headquarters when a joint team of district reserve guard (DRG) and Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) were out for area domination towards village Gudari when the IED blast occurred.

"A joint Hawk Force team of Mandla and Balaghat district has launched an operation against the Naxals in the area. As a result of which, two Naxals have been shot dead so far and the operation is still going on," Mandla Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Gajendra Singh told ANI.
The incident occurred around 5 pm in the forest between newly established camp Dabbakonta and Pentapad under Chintagufa police station of the district. The head constable was identified as Suleman, a resident of Palakkad district, Kerala.
The accused was identified as Suresh Kumar Sahu, a resident of Koyalibeda area of the district. The police also recovered Maoist pamphlets and materials used in triggering explosions, including wires and detonators, from the accused.
