The development comes days after 10 personnel of the District Reserve Guards (DRG) were killed in an ambush attack triggered by the Naxalites in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday condemned the attack by Naxalites in Dantewada which killed 11 people, including 10 District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel
Both the Naxals were active for the past many years and they were carrying a reward of Rs 14 lakh each on their heads. The police team also recovered 303 bore rifles from both the Naxals from the spot.
"An IED weighing about 5 kilograms was recovered from the area, and it was destroyed on the spot by following the security standards. All the soldiers are safe. Searching is going on in the area", officials said.
The bus was travelling between on Barsur-Palli Marg when about 20-25 Naxalites set it on fire. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of the Malewahi police station. Dantewada Police confirmed that all passengers are safe.
An encounter broke out in the forests under the Konta Police Station area in Kottalendra on Thursday, Sukma, said Superintendent of Police Sunil Sharma.
