The 11 Naxalites, including 8 women and 3 men, surrendered at Gadchiroli Police Headquarters. They had bounties totalling more than Rs 1 crore on their heads. Chhattisgarh government had also announced a bounty on them.
Purvarti village of Sukma, located in the Bastar region of Chhatisgarh, is infamous for being the home of top Maoist leaders and heightened Naxalite activities.
"SSB personnel, along with local police and other central paramilitary forces, have played a crucial role in eradicating Naxalite influence from areas in Bihar, Jharkhand, and the Northeast," Amit Shah said, expressing gratitude to the force for its dedication and tireless efforts.
"The threat of Naxalism is not limited to remote areas only. Many front organizations have been formed. They are trying to shake the faith in the Constitution through an ecosystem. Many of these organizations try to rescue the arrested Naxalites. They create a safe haunt for them," he said.

A woman was strangled to death by Naxalites in Chattisgarh's Bijapur district on the suspicion of being a police informer, police officials said on Saturday.
