Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma on Wednesday said that at least 26 Naxals were killed during an encounter that broke out between security forces and Naxals in the forest area of Abujhmad in Narayanpur district.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the AIIMS trauma centre in Delhi on Thursday and checked on the health of the security personnel injured during the 21-day-long anti-Naxal operation carried out in the Karegutta Hills (KGH) at the Chhattisgarh and Telangana border.
The security forces under the DRG area had gone on an anti-Maoist operation in the areas of Geedam police station of the Dantewada district and Bhairamgarh police station of Bijapur border villages - Nelgoda, Akeli and Belnar.
