The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu marked the 76th Republic Day on Sunday with a special ceremony. Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, inaugurated the event by unfurling the Indian national flag within the embassy premises.
A delegation of 26 Nepali diplomats and officers, representing 10 key Ministries and Departments of the Government of Nepal underwent Special training at Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), Ministry of External Affairs, India.
Addressing the event of witnessing the website launch of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention organized at the embassy, Ambassador of India to Nepal Naveen Srivastava called on the Indian diaspora to sign up for the event.
In a gesture of solidarity, Srivastava conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message to Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and assured that 'India stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal at this difficult time.'
"I convey on our behalf and the Government of India, a sincere condolence in the recent floods that have caused tremendous loss of lives and damage to the property," the Indian envoy said.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu proudly celebrated the 155th Gandhi Jayanti on Wednesday, honouring the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. The Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava paid floral tributes to Bapu, reflecting on his monumental contributions to India's struggle for freedom.
