The MoUs were signed earlier in the president of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Philippines President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. Notably, this is President Marcos' first state visit, with both countries celebrating 75 years of strong diplomatic relations.
President Marcos announced visa-free entry privileges for Indian tourists, while PM Modi reciprocated with a similar scheme for Filipino tourists. The two leaders also welcomed the resumption of direct flights between India and the Philippines from October 2025.
Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Randhir Jaiswal said that India and the Philippines share close bonds based on the foundation of civilizational connections.
