In a major achievement for the UP government in its ongoing crusade against drug dealers, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), formed under the guidance of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has filed 110 cases and arrested 293 accused in the last two and a half years.
The Assam Rifles, in an anti-narcotics operation, seized narcotics weighing 277 gm valued at approximately Rs. 1,93,90,000 and apprehended three individuals in the Siahatla area of Siaha district, Mizoram, as per a press release on Saturday.
"We caught a person and recovered 30 soap boxes and four leather bags containing heroin weighing 4.765 kg from his possession. The market value of the seized drugs is estimated at around Rs 24 crore," ASP Subrata Sen said.
