Ahead of the Nagaland assembly polls on February 27, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Akuluto assembly constituency in Nagaland Kazheto Kinimi has won the elections uncontested.
The Election Commission of India had announced the date for the elections in the state along with two other eastern states- Meghalaya and Tripura on January 18.
The Aam Aadmi Party have decided not to file any candidate in the upcoming Nagaland Assembly election as the candidates does not match the required elegible criteria.
EC officials on Tuesday said that in order make arrangements to conduct, free and fair' polls, three special observers have been appointed from among the retired, IRS, IAS and IPS officials.

Ahead of the February 27 Assembly elections, Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton of the BJP on Sunday said he would work for the entire state and not just for his Wokha constituency, if the ruling alliance with the Naga People's Front (NPF) is voted back.
