The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) thwarted a smuggling bid and arrested 18 female Sudan nationals and one Indian at the Chhatrapati Shivani Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, an official said on Tuesday.
The person behind the wheel of the vehicle, identified as 25-year-old Farman, was chased by some commuters over 300 meters before he was nabbed, police informed further.
Detailing the incident, the police said, "On April 20, information was received that Mukhtayar had reached Delhi and would come near Majnu Ka Tilla. Acting on this information, the team of Special Cell/NDR apprehended him."
