A member of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP, was allegedly stabbed to death at his shop in the Islampur area in Uttar Dinajpur district.
Earlier, Trinamool Congress alleged that three of its party workers have been murdered in multiple incidents of violence in West Bengal after polling for the single-phase panchayat elections began in the state on Saturday morning.
According to the reports, the accused, Babul Tumung, allegedly raped and killed the minor girl and dumped her body in the Digaru River in the Sonapur area in Kamrup (Metro) district on June 28. Later, police recovered the body from the river.
The incident took place in the Khurrianwala area of Faisalabad, where adversaries blinded by animosity unleashed a hail of bullets, claiming the lives of a father, daughter, and two others from the same household, while leaving three individuals, including two women, injured.
Delhi Police on Thursday said that police authorities will try to get maximum punishment including the death sentence for the accused Sahil who allegedly murdered a 16-year-old minor girl in Shahbad Dairy.
"Police have told us nothing so far. We did not have a word with the Police till now. Yesterday at 12 pm, I received a call from the students who took my son to the hospital. Police kept these students here (Police Station) throughout the night," the victim's father, Sanjay, later told AN
Investigation revealed that the accused woman had reportedly murdered her husband and tried to destroy evidence by hiding the body in the house, said police.
