Three shooters who gunned down gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf last night, were sent to 14-day judicial custody by the Prayagraj court in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
The three-member judicial enquiry committee, probing the murder of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf has been asked to submit a report to the government in two months.
Security has been deployed outside the residence of Umesh Pal in Prayagraj after the mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead in full media glare on Saturday night.
"A murder happened and section 144 was imposed, the government there (Uttar Pradesh) did it. But if this incident took place despite the presence of (UP) police, then it is a serious matter. This raises a big question on law and order," Raut said while speaking to the media.
