A local court sent Vijay Mishra – lawyer of slain gangster Atique Ahmed – who was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police from Lucknow on Saturday, to 14-day judicial custody today.
In a major development in connection with the murder of Atiq Ahmed, the lawyer of the slain gangster-turned-politician was on Saturday night, police said.
The Commission has taken suo motu cognisance of the media reports wherein it is stated that the woman was allegedly attacked with an iron rod by a man near Aurobindo College, Malviya Nagar. This resulted in the death of the woman on the spot itself.
Delhi's Saket court on Friday recorded the statement of a Shopkeeper who sold a hammer, which was allegedly used in the offence, to Aftab Amin Poonawala. The court also recorded the statement of the Shopkeeper who sold a suitcase to him.
Officials said that on Friday morning, the accused was found hanging inside the lockup. He was rushed to Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali where the doctor declared him dead.
