New Delhi [India], August 5 (ANI): After India wrote history by winning a silver medal in athletics in the ongoing Common Wealth Games, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur congratulated long jumper M Sreeshankar for achieving the accolade and wished him the best.
India's Murali Sreeshankar clinched the silver medal in the Men's Long Jump final with a mark of 8.08m at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham on Thursday.
Manju qualified for the final by throwing her best of 59.68 m in her first attempt. She finished at the number 11 spot, which was good enough for her to play the final which will feature the top 12 players

His best effort in the finals was a 7.96 m jump which was his first attempt. Other successful attempts of 7.89 m and 7.83 m were also made by the athlete
With this, Sable has reached the second consecutive final, clocking 8:18.75 in his heat. Sreeshankar became the first Indian men's long jumper to reach the finals
