Six people were arrested in Navi Mumbai for allegedly assaulting a man for stealing spices from the firm where he worked, and forcing him to lick shoes, a police official said on Saturday.
A 42-year-old man was arrested by Borivali Government Railway Police (GRP) for allegedly beating his wife to death after she refused to give him money for alcohol, the police said on Saturday.

The complainant alleged that the man had offered to speak with her on this matter but when she went to meet him, the accused allegedly spiked her drink, following which she lost consciousness and he raped her.
According to Mumbai police, the scam took place on November 8 after the engineer received a call from a man who claimed to be speaking from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
A man on Tuesday jumped off the second floor of Mantralaya, the headquarters of the Maharashtra government in South Mumbai but landed on the safety net, police said.
