A total of 77 IndiGo flights were disrupted at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Monday as of now, with 38 arrivals and 39 departures cancelled, according to airport authorities.
Congress MP Rajeev Shukla on Saturday raised concerns over the large-scale cancellation of IndiGo flights, stating that thousands of passengers have been left stranded at airports and alleging that the government has failed to provide adequate assistance to affected travellers.
Major flight disruptions at IndiGo continued to cause nationwide chaos on Friday and affected thousands of passengers, including filmmaker Kiran Rao, whose international travel plans were derailed due to repeated delays and lack of clarity from the airline.
IndiGo operations across India remained severely disrupted on Saturday, with more than 100 flights cancelled and thousands of passengers stranded at airports in Mumbai, Guwahati and Hyderabad.
Celebrities were also seen having their own travel plans derailed as many took to social media and expressed frustration over the indefinite waiting and delays at terminals.
Speaking to ANI on the situation at Mumbai Airport, Randhawa said IndiGo's vast network has amplified the scale of the disruptions. "Indigo operates approximately 2,200 flights all over India," he said.
