The domestic stocks in opening trade also seemed to have recovered from last week's losses when shares of the Adani Group firms suffered a rout and the outcome dragged on the stock key indices, namely Sensex and Nifty.
In Thursday's morning trade, shares of Adani Group's flagship firm, Adani Enterprises, were down 9.80 per cent to Rs 1,929.65 apiece. In five sessions, it has lost more than Rs 1,337.30 or declined over 40 per cent.
Adani Enterprises' shares were trading in the green as the market opened on Tuesday while other group firms such Adani Wilmar, Adani Transmission and Adani Total Gas were trading in the negative territory in the morning.
BSE Sensex dropped below 59,800 level as it declined 479 points to 59,637.06 while NSE's Nifty 50 fell 141 points to 17,750.60 in morning trade on Friday.
According to exchanges, BSE Sensex dropped 176 points to 59,781.42 while NSE Nifty 50 dipped 55 points to 17,826.45 points in morning trade on Friday. It is expected that domestic stocks might strengthen later in the session.
BSE Sensex surged 77 points to 60,917.87 while Nifty 50 went up 25 points to 18,130.35 at 9.27 am on Monday. Some of the most active stocks on BSE that went up in morning trade were Tata Communications, Lloyd, Usha Mart, Timken and Kalpataru Power while MCX, Jindal Poly, Shipping Corporation
