Accused Ved Prakash Yadav, joint director of the Department of Information and Technology (DoIT) was suspended, a day after he was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in the alleged misuse of office and disproportionate of assets (DA) case.
An accused official, Ved Prakash Yadav, has been arrested in the case in which police seized over Rs 2.31 crores in cash and 1 kg of gold biscuits from a basement of the government office in Jaipur, police said on Sunday.
Gold worth over Rs 1 crore was seized in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) search operations at eight residential and commercial premises in Bhubaneswar in bank fraud cases.
"Last time (in 2016), new notes were introduced, which were not even fitting into the ATMs. Now again people have to put money in banks. A country can't afford such decisions as it affects people," the MNS chief added.
"If someone has accumulated black money, then they will definitely have problems while changing the note, they will have to tell from where these notes came from," Fadnavis said.
The ED initiated an investigation based on an FIR registered by Vigilance Establishment Dehradun against Yadav under the Prevention of Corruption Act, for possessing assets disproportionate to known sources of income.
The court has sent Anwar Dhebar and Nitesh Purohit to 14 days of judicial custody while the custody of Arun Pati Tripathi and Trilok Singh Dhillon extended till May 23, he added.
