Southeast monsoon has started withdrawing from September 25 onwards from some parts of Rajasthan and now conditions are favourable for further withdrawal from the northeast and other areas of the country in the next 2-3 days, IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said on Wednesday.

The Southwest Monsoon is active over the northeast Indian states, said IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, and noted rainfall is expected for the next two days in Assam and Meghalaya.
Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places over South Rajasthan and adjoining areas of North Gujarat, said Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Director General Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra on Saturday.
The cyclone, which originated in the Arabian Sea swept across the west coast of India made landfall on Thursday night around 10 km north of the Jakhau Port in Kutch, as per IMD reports.
"Biparjoy is moving in an East Northeast direction at a wind speed of 80-90 kilometres per hour (kmph) as of 8:30 am," IMD Director Dr Mrityunjay Mohapatra said.
IMD Director Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said that the cyclone has now moved from sea to land and is centred towards Sauarashtra-Kutch, adding that heavy rains are expected in Rajasthan on Friday.
