The Mizo National Front (MNF) President went to cast his vote in the morning hours on Tuesday at 19-Aizawl Venglai-I YMA Hall polling station under the Aizawl North-II assembly constituency.
"I urge our sisters and brothers in Mizoram, especially the youth, to come out and vote in large numbers. Each and every vote will lay the foundation of a developed and prosperous Mizoram," Shah said in a post on 'X'.
The North-eastern state of Mizoram is going to polls on Tuesday the counting of which is scheduled on December 3. A total of 174 candidates are in the fray.
In the 2018 assembly elections, the Mizo National Front (MNF) secured 26 seats with a vote share of 37.8 per cent and emerged victorious defeating the 10-year-old Congress government.
"RSS-BJP are hell-bent on destroying your culture, values, religion, and the Mizo way of life. Modi Govt wants to take your Land and Forests and gift that to their crony friends," Kharge said in a post on 'X' on Sunday.
Deputy Speaker of the Assam Assembly, Momin, who is also the star campaigner of the BJP in the only northeastern state among the five states going to polls next week, said that this time the party's vote share will also be increased to 15 per cent.
Talking to ANI on Saturday, Anil Antony said that the BJP will win in most of the contesting seats, and it will be the party's best-ever performance in the state.
For the polls to the Mizoram Legislative Assembly 2023, the home voting process has been continued in various districts of the state for senior citizens (80 and above) and PwD voters.
In a run-up to the state assembly polls, the Congress party on Saturday vowed to pass a new Bill that guarantees to protect the land and rights of the tribal people of Mizoram.
"We will collaborate with the Central government and Assam government to resolve the long-standing border dispute and safeguard the interests and rights...," the BJP said.
The Congress party on Monday decided to field Meriam L Hrangchal from the Lunglei South constituency for the November 7 Assembly elections in the northeastern state.
