"We are confident that we will form the government. In this constituency, it is difficult to prophesy. But I think we can come on top," Lalsawta said speaking to ANI after casting his vote.
According to the CEO Mizoram, the total number of electors in Mizoram stands at 8,51,895. Out of which 4,12,969 are male, 4,38,925 are female and 1(one) third gender. There are a total of 4,973 service voters in Mizoram.
The President of the Mizo National Front (MNF) and Chief Minister, Zoramthanga, stands out as one of the most prominent figures in this election. Having previously won Aizawl East - I in the 2018 assembly elections, Zoramthanga is once again contesting from the same constituency.
The main political parties in Mizoram are the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), the Congress, the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Saizikpuii, Additional Deputy Commissioner, said, "The polling parties are collecting their EVMs and polling materials. Security personnel will go with each polling party. Every security arrangement has been made to conduct the poll. "
According to the Chief Electoral Officer's office, Mizoram, 8,52,088 voters including 4,13,064 male and 4,39,028 female voters will exercise their franchise in 1276 polling stations.
"BJP is going to perform much better than in the past. Only the BJP can develop the Mizos. Whether it is Mizos or Chakma, if they want proper development, they have to trust the BJP," MoS Pramanik added.
