The incident occurred at Beleshwar Jhulelal Mahadev Temple located at Patel Nagar locality in the city on Thursday when a Havan puja was going on in view of the Ram Navami festival. A total of 36 persons died and 16 people were rescued in the incident.
A case has been registered against the President and Secretary of temple administration under IPC section 304. Case of unintentional murder registered, said Makrand Deoskar, Commissioner of Police (CP), Indore.
Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday expressed grief over the demise of people in the incident of stepwell collapse at a temple that claimed the lives of 35 people in Indore.
A tweet on the official handle of the Prime Minister's Office read; "An ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh (each) from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased in the unfortunate tragedy in Indore today. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000 (each): PM."
According to the SDOP, the tractor ferrying over two dozen persons overturned leaving two women dead on the spot while one died in the hospital. Around 20 persons were injured in the mishap, of which five are in critical condition.
"We had to transfer her to the conference centre and she was a little early so the German authorities asked her to wait on the plane for a while," the German ambassador informed, adding that she agreed to stay in the aircraft.
The Energy Department now joins the Federal Bureau of Investigation in saying the virus likely spread via a mishap at a Chinese laboratory, reported WSJ.
The mishap occurred near village Khapparwada under Gunderdehi police station limits on Tuesday night, said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Harish Rathore.
