Violence continues in the northeastern state of Manipur, with miscreants torching the residence of Union Minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh in Imphal's Kongba on Thursday night.
"Congress is against every criminal and is with the police to protect the general public.Permission has not been given for the mahapanchayat. They have also imposed 144 there, but the police administration should take action against the people who have created this situation there," he said.
The injured were arrested and admitted to Roorkee Civil Hospital for treatment, police said adding that a third person fled under the cover of darkness, an official said. According to police, the miscreants were planning to loot the houses in the area.
Some miscreants allegedly pelted stones at the police teams, leaving nearly half a dozen personnel injured. A few vehicles were also allegedly set on fire, forcing police to use force and use tear gas to disperse the mob.
Two miscreants abducted a 15-year-old girl in an auto with evil intentions and when she shouted, they threw her out of the moving vehicle, but local residents chased them and caught hold of the driver, said police on Sunday.
Two persons were killed and two others were injured in a shooting incident in Assam's Dhemaji district along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border on Monday, police said.

"On May 27, 2023, the army got information that a few miscreants have tried to damage the Wainem Bridge and dislocated three panels. Immediately the nearest Army column responded to the call and reached the incident site with a recovery vehicle," the official statement said.
