The principal of a senior secondary girl school in Haryana's Jind district was suspended after allegations of sexual harassment of students. The Haryana Government suspended the principal after the Prime Minister's Office intervened in the case.
Rajasthan police have constituted a special investigation team to probe the death of two minor girls who died allegedly by suicide after consuming poison on Saturday.
The Delhi Commission for Women on Saturday issued notice to Delhi Police over two separate incidents of sexual assault involving two minor girls in the same hotel in Delhi and sought details of action taken against the hotel, an official statement said.
According Jhabua SP Agam Jain, the case against Jha has been registered under IPC section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), Pocso Act and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Sources in the ministry said, the "Scheme for critical care and support for accessing justice to rape/gang-rape survivors and minor girls who get pregnant" was appraised at the total cost of Rs 74.10 crore Under the Nirbhaya fund.
While addressing the presser on Tuesday, NMAP Chairman Lala Robin Daniel said that the system has collapsed and minor girls' respect and dignity are at stake due to a lack of implementation of laws and malpractices.
"Case of sexual harassment of minor girls in Tilhar police station of Shahjahanpur. As many as 18 girls have been sexually abused and are to be X-rayed today. The accused has been arrested," Shahjahanpur Senior Superintendent of Police S Anand told ANI.
The girls stayed at their relatives' place for the past three years, and were allegedly raped on several occasions, the victims' parents alleged in a complaint to the police.
The families protested against the incident in front of the press club and shouting slogans, Ali Asghar, the father of the missing girls, told reporters that his two daughters went to school yesterday and could not return home, which was also reported to the police, as per Jasarat.
As part of the demonstration, taken out on Thursday, hundreds of members from various scheduled caste Hindu groups, such as the Kolhi, Bheel, Meghwar, Oad, and Bagri held a sit-in outside the provincial legislature under the banner of the Pakistan Darawer Ittehad.
