Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday held a meeting with the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and State government officials in Odisha's Balasore, where nearly 300 people were killed in an accident involving three trains earlier this month.
"He will also visit the Balasore District Hospital and will meet with the officials of the Hospital and District administration. Apart from this, Vaishnaw will inspect and review the development of Balasore Railway Station," according to the Ministry of Railways.
"We met the patients at Bhadrak hospital. Almost all patients are in contact with their famlies. Doctors and staff are providing proper treatment to the injured. Track restoration work is underway", said Vaishnaw.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday wrote to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw regarding the allotment of stops for the newly launched Vande Bharat Express train in Thiruvalla and Tirur.
According to the minister, physical progress of 32.93 per cent in Gujarat and 13.72 per cent in Maharashtra, pertaining to the project, had been achieved till February this year.

Union Minister Vaishnaw further said that as per the information reported to and tracked by CERT-In, a total number of 6, 7 and 8 data breach incidents related to government organisations were observed during the years 2020, 2021 and 2022 respectively.
Ashwini Vaishnaw also spoke about the competitive talent pool in India that is working on the leading technology. Another factor that minster noted was the significant number of engineers being produced by India every year.
