Assam Rifles recovered 2.37 kg of methamphetamine tablets worth ₹7.11 crore during an operation in Zokhawthar, Mizoram. A suspect carrying the narcotics fled the spot, and the seized contraband was handed over to the police for further investigation.
In another bold step to counter cross-border drug trafficking in Mizoram, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Police Department, Zokhawthar, seized 22.676 kg of Methamphetamine tablets valued at Rs68.03 Crore near Balu Kai area, Zokhawthar on Monday
Acting on the specific inputs, Assam Rifles and Special Narcotics Police Station, CID (Crime) launched the operation, targeting illicit drug activities in the region.
According to an official release, "In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, Assam Rifles, along with Hnahlan Police, recovered methamphetamine (7500 tablets) costing Rs 2,25,00,000 on March 5, 2024."
During the operation, 94940 meth tablets were recovered in the Mualkawi area, and in another operation, 87720 meth tablets were recovered in the Khuangleng area, according to the officials
