After IMD predicted rainfall and strong winds for Karnataka, a holiday was announced on Monday in schools in Karnataka's Chikkaballapur and Kolar districts.

The three states given red alerts are Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh. Doppler Weather Radar Karaikal and Chennai are monitoring the cyclone.
