On the penultimate day too, both collected five gold medals each to maintain the status quo of the last couple of days, with Maharashtra holding a solitary gold advantage.
Maharashtra (37 gold) are one ahead of Haryana (36), who failed to strike gold for the first time since the Games started on June 4. Haryana, however, are primed for a spectacular finish with a bounty of gold awaiting them in the boxing ring.
Haryana's 4-1 gold efforts were etched out by captain Sonam (two goals) and Kanika Siwach and Gurmail Kaur scored one each. In Judoka Anil won gold medal in 55 Kg and swimmer Harsh Saroha also bagged a gold to put Haryana on top of medals tally.
Leakzes Angmo cornered glory in the National School Games in 2018-19 and 2019-20, winning gold medals in Time Trial and Team Sprint. She took a silver in the 2020 Khelo India Games in Guwahati too.
