The Supreme Court on Friday refused to entertain a plea seeking to stay the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, scheduled to be held on December 4.
Ahead of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls, all arrangements have been made in regard to security and surveillance by the Delhi Police, said Special CP (Law & Order) Sagar Preet Hooda.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Friday informed that the rail services on all the Lines would start from 4 am at terminal stations, in the wake of the December 4 elections of Municipal Corporation in the national capital.
The ban will be imposed from 5.30 PM on Friday, that is, the time and day the civic polls campaign ends till December 4, which is the day when voting will take place. Following this, the ban will be imposed again on December 7, the day the votes are to be counted.
The civic polls are seeing a contest between the BJP, which currently holds the reins of the civic bodies in the national capital, the AAP and the Congress.
The Delhi High Court on Thursday issued notices to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and the State Election Commission (SEC) on a plea moved by Aapki Apni Party (Peoples). The petitioner has moved the court as the party's name is not mentioned in the list for MCD polls and the candidates
A case has been registered under the Arms Act against a man named Joginder Singh alias Bunty, who is an AAP candidate for MCD polls from Ward-19, Swaroop Nagar, as he was seen in a viral video flaunting his revolver while dancing," Delhi Police said in a statement.
"The people of Delhi are eager to vote for the BJP in the upcoming MCD elections to resolve various civic issues. The public is fed up with AAP's works and is appreciating BJP, " said BJP President JP Nadda while speaking at Wazirpur Industrial area.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and said that Delhi will vote for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Municipal polls in the national capital.
