BJP leader Dilip Ghosh on Friday launched a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his allegations that the Chandigarh mayoral elections were rigged, saying that Kejriwal was "trying to escape from his failure by making allegations everywhere."
Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal, along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and other party leaders, held a protest against the BJP over the Chandigarh mayoral elections.
After the alleged detention of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers, who were on their way to protest against the disputed Chandigarh mayoral polls, Delhi minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said the BJP committed 'fraud' in the elections.
Ahead of the scheduled protest over the Chandigarh Mayor election by the Aam Aadmi Party, Aam Aadmi Party Haryana State President Dr Sushil Gupta was detained while he was going to join protest against the BJP in Delhi.
"Stolen votes in the first Chandigarh Mayor election. Now the people coming to protest peacefully against this are being stopped at various places across Delhi." CM Arvind Kejriwal posted on X.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Priyanka Kakkar said on Wednesday that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will take part in the party's protest at the BJP office in Delhi in connection to the high drama witnessed in the Chandigarh Mayoral poll results.
Coming down heavily on the AAP-Congress for creating a ruckus during the election of the mayor of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Wednesday alleged that the party's aggression was an attempt to subvert the election process.
"Whatever happened yesterday is an example of the murder of democracy. The budget is coming tomorrow, let's see what Punjab gets. Aam Aadmi Party Punjab and Congress will move to the Supreme Court against the mayoral election", CM Mann said.
The Bharatiya Janata Party will get a majority in the upcoming elections as well, whether it be the upcoming Lok Sabha elections or the Haryana assembly elections, said CM Khattar.
