Rajya Sabha MP Ajeet Gopchade paid a courtesy visit to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday and submitted detailed memoranda on key national and regional issues, including rural development, development of the Marathwada region, and border security.
According to the Minister of Revenue's Office, the unprecedented rainfall and flooding severely affected Marathwada, Konkan, Vidarbha and Western Maharashtra, inflicting heavy losses on lives, homes, farmland, livestock and public infrastructure.
Thackeray said that he will visit Marathwada to meet the affected farmers, who are struggling to rebuild their farms and have yet to receive promised MNREGA compensation.
He also accused Shiv Sena (UBT) faction chief and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray of "Nizam-like behaviour" while responding to Sanjay Raut's "Marathwada is still under the Nizam's rule"
