Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday announced an ex-gratia amounting to Rs 10 lakh each for the next of kin of deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured in Reasi terror attack.
Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP), RR Swain said that the number of locals joining terrorism has decreased and asserted that they have to act tough against some people to maintain a peaceful atmosphere.
As part of the zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, Sinha in his crackdown against terrorism has so far terminated the services of more than 50 employees who were working for terror outfits and Pakistan's ISI
"This is a festival of democracy, and I appeal to all the voters for maximum participation in voting," Sinha said after casting his vote in the seventh and final Phase of the Lok Sabha election 2024.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed grief over the tragic road accident in Kulgam today and directed the district adminstration to provide all necessary assistance to the affected families, the Raj Bhawan said in a statement.
"I am deeply saddened to learn about the loss of precious lives in an unfortunate road accident in Sonamarg, Ganderbal. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with the bereaved families," he said.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the terror attack in the Bijbehara area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday, where terrorists shot dead a civilian from Bihar.
"In 2013, you talked about the special status of Bihar, after 11 years, Bihar is asking you the same question, you should speak on these issues, then only people will evaluate you honestly," said Jha.
