In a shocking incident a 42-year-old man has been allegedly beaten to death in Mumbai's Worli area, said Police. Three accused have been arrested in connection with the murder which happened in the late hours on Wednesday, the police added.
The Delhi High Court directed the police to record the statement of one of the five men, allegedly beaten by cops and forced to sing the national anthem, before the magistrate within a week.
According to DCP Central Sanjay Kumar Sain, "On Saturday night at 11:30 pm, we received information that a person is lying on the street in injured condition at Shadipur Village after which police reached the spot and found that the injured has been taken to hospital by locals."
According to police, they have registered a case against the accused on the basis of a complaint by the kin of the deceased who Gyanendra's cousin could identify- Bharat, Manish, Rohit, Ajay, Lalit, Azad and Kapil.
According to the officials, the youth had gone to a nearby village where people caught him and started assaulting him on the basis of some theft suspicion.
Government Railway Police (GRP) on Sunday said it had registered a complaint in connection with a viral video showing a man being assaulted by 10-11 miscreants inside the Padmavat Express in Uttar Pradesh.
In a complaint lodged with the GRP, the passenger alleged that he was forced to chant the 'Jai Shri Ram' slogan and the attackers even pulled his beard.
