In wake of mob violence in Murshidabad in which three people were killed, West Bengal Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said raised apprehension that Hindus were not safe in the state and situation is very serious, delicate.
Violence erupted in West Bengal's Murshidabad district during protests against the Waqf Amendment Act, with clashes between demonstrators and police resulting in stone-pelting and torched police vehicles.
West Bengal Congress president Subhankar Sarkar slammed the West Bengal government and the BJP over the protest that erupted in the state due to the Waqf Amendment Act.
BJP on Saturday launched a strong attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over violence in Bengal during protests against the Waqf Amendment Act and alleged that the police were not taking action against the culprits.

BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar strongly condemned the violent unrest in Jalangi, Murshidabad, where a Block Development Office (BDO) was razed, and police vehicles were torched by a mob.
"Hindus' security is the responsibility of Mamata Banerjee along with Muslims. Murshidabad violence shows Hindus are forced to flee West Bengal... It is unfortunate that this is happening in front of the state government," Singh told reporters in Begusarai.
