Amid the ongoing protests in West Bengal over the rape and murder of a junior doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, another case involving the alleged molestation of a minor girl in the Howrah Government Hospital has come to light, the superintendent of HGH said on Sunday.
"Mamata Banerjee is the root and the architect of this. Step Down, Mamata. She should resign. She is the main disease and virus in these types of incidents," Adhikari said.

Union Minister and BJP State President Sukanta Majumdar on Sunday criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the alleged molestation of a nurse in Birbhum, blaming her for the failure of the administration and police system.
Assam Trinamool Congress President Ripun Bora on Sunday resigned from the party, citing the perception of people of the state of TMC being a regional party.
"Law and order is a state subject and if she (Mamata) cannot handle it, then she should leave it and resign. She should stop blaming other people,"Manjhi said.
He also claimed that Mamata Banerjee wants to "escape her responsibility" by targeting CBI, adding that it is also the responsibility of the West Bengal government and police to cooperate with the agency.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dilip Ghosh on Saturday claimed that the West Bengal government was still trying to obstruct the Kolkata woman doctor rape and murder case enquiry and save the accused.
This comes after Banerjee on Friday wrote to PM Modi, reiterating her request for stringent central legislation and exemplary punishment on heinous crimes like rape and murder.
"The information contained in your letter in this regard is factually incorrect and appears to be a step in the direction to cover up the delays in operationalising the FTSCs by the State," wrote Devi responding to Mamata Banerjee and urged the West Bengal government to implement the same
