Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday enjoyed a millet lunch at Parliament along with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other MPs.
After Congress leader Ajay Rai stoked fresh controversy over his "latke-jhatke" remark about Smriti Irani, the Union Minister on Tuesday asked if such "indecent" statements are made to "please" the Gandhi family.
In a tweet, Kharge emphasised the Chinese build-up in Sikkim's Doklam and said that it was "threatening" India's 'strategic corridor'. He also said that the matter is of utmost concern now.
"He urged all the party leaders to work for the people of the state unitedly and implement the promises made in the manifesto so that fruits of development could reach to the poorest of the poor," it added.
"Red eye" of the Modi government is covered with "Chinese glasses", said Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday taking a dig at the Centre for not holding a discussion in Parliament over the India-China December 9 clashes.
As per reports, the meeting was held in Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge's chamber to plan the strategy on Indo-China tussle and other issues in the House.
The opposition staged a walkout in Parliament after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh did not give clarification of his statement in Parliament on the reports of clashes between the Indian army and Chinese troupes, said Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday.
