BJP leaders in Jammu hit back at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge over his "jailed" statement, saying that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi lodged thousands of opposition leaders in jail without any charge during the emergency.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge heavily criticised the Bhartiya Janta Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a press conference at Srinagar on Wednesday.
In a letter to Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, he thanked the party for the opportunities and affirmed he remains fully committed to the ideals and goals of the Congress party.
Top Congress leaders held a meeting in the national capital ahead of the Assembly elections to be held this year in the four states of Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand and Maharashtra.
Sharing a post on X, Mallikarjun Kharge said, "India and Norway have been enjoying a cordial and friendly relationship since 1947. The two countries respect each other for their commonly shared values of democracy, human rights and rule of law."
