The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed opposition in the Punjab Assembly has declared its intention to boycott the house proceedings and abstain from participating in its standing committees. Instead, they plan to conduct a parallel session in a tent outside the assembly building, Dawn reported
PTI leader Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar said the issue has also "exposed" Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), who he accused of providing tacit support to the law.
The second session of the recently elected Punjab Assembly, presided over by outgoing Speaker Sibtain Khan, witnessed a charged atmosphere as members from PML-N and SIC, including MPAs with PTI's backing, engaged in fervent slogan-shouting against each other.
