Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday wrote to citizens across the country, extending his warm greetings on Makar Sankranti, Magh Bihu, and Pongal, festivals that mark the harvest season in different parts of India.
The Prime Minister also extended greetings on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, praying for the happiness, prosperity, and excellent health of the citizens.
Informing on the security arrangements, SP Magh Mela Neeraj Pandey said that around 10,000 police personnel have been deployed and surveillance is ongoing to ensure "a safe snaam."
The Chief Minister said, "The festival of Makar Sankranti is celebrated in different parts of the country under various names and traditions, reflecting the diversity and unity of Indian culture."
