"The central government should release the funds that are due. This is our right. However, if they try to create a financial blockade, we will hit the streets," TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said.
Mahua Moitra was on Friday expelled from the Lok Sabha after a discussion on the report of the Ethics Committee in the 'cash for query' that was tabled in the Lower House.
Omar Abdullah, whose party is a crucial member of the opposition alliance alongside the Trinamool Congress (TMC), said that 'democracy shouldn't be killed in this way'.
Speaking to ANI on Saturday, the Punjab BJP Chief said that TMC leader Mahua Moitra, who was expelled from the Lok Sabha in cash for the query case, is just an "excuse" that the leaders of the opposition parties are joining together against the ruling BJP.
Avoiding making a comment on the expulsion of Mahua Moitra from the 17th Lok Sabha in cash for the query case, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who was one of the complainants in the matter, termed the suspension of the TMC leader a 'sad day'.
"This happens to anyone who speaks against BJP, those speaking favourably face no consequences, while those questioning the government face punitive actions," said the AAP leader.
Referring to TMC MP Mohua Mitra's earlier statement that her Maa Kaali eats meat, smokes cigarettes and drinks whisky, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Friday said that her expulsion from the Lok Sabha in the 'cash for query' case was due to the 'curse of Maa Kali.'
Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party over the explusion of TMC MP Mahua Moitra from the 17th Lok Sabha in a 'cash for query' case, TMC leader Chandrima Bhattacharya on Friday said that Moitra's expulsion is an example of BJP atrocities against women.
