The Maharashtra Police on Saturday arrested a social media influencer for allegedly duping women by pretending to belong to a royal family of Rajasthan.
Maharashtra Deputy Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said that an investigation will be initiated into why "no action" was taken by the police on the complaint letter of Shhradha Walkar in 2020.
The Maharashtra Police on Wednesday said they had registered the case based on Shraddha Walkar's letter in 2020 and investigated it but the case was closed after the complainant gave a written statement to withdraw the case.
The Maharashtra police have confirmed that the deceased had written a complaint letter on November 23, 2020, which was shared by her neighbour in Vasai with whom Shraddha had gone to file the complaint.
