"With able leaders heading the Mahayuti, we are sure of getting the numbers. Mahayuti will get more than 200 MLAs and 45+ MPs. Opposition members are scrambling to save their remaining leaders and hence resorting to lowly criticism," he said.
Amid the battle for control of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) by rival factions led by Sharad Pawar and his nephew and former Maharashtra deputy chief minister, Ajit Pawar, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday said the BJP was involved in breaking other parties, adding that
"NCP President Sharad Pawar to go to Nashik on July 8 for a one-day visit. Tomorrow at 4 pm a historic meeting will be held at Yeola, Nashik," Maharashtra NCP chief's spokesperson Mahesh Tapase said on Friday.
Even as the fierce power tussle between rival NCP factions, led by Sharad Pawar and his nephew Ajit Pawar, continued to play out on Thursday, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis met Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at his official residence, Varsha, in Mumbai.
"Ajit Pawar has expressed confidence in PM Modi. When Ajit ji decided to join us, Devendra ji, I, and all senior leaders of the party welcomed his decision," he said.
Chandrashekhar Bawankule said," All our senior leaders including Devendra Fadnavis have already told that Eknath Shinde will remain as CM. He is doing a good job for the state. Opposition parties are creating confusion."
