After the Karnataka-Maharashtra border dispute escalated, many untoward incidents took place in Belagavi, after which as a precautionary measure, police presence was tightened along the border, in Belagavi's Chikkodi.
Amid the row over the border dispute between Karnataka and Maharashtra, Belagavi Police on Friday said the situation in the area is "normal and peaceful".
Patil and Desai were initially scheduled to visit Belagavi on December 3 but at the request of the Belagavi Ambedkar organization, their visit was postponed and both were to arrive in Belagavi on December 6.
