The first day of the winter session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly began with an uproar by the opposition, with MLAs of the Mahavikas Aghadi holding placards protesting in the Vidhan Bhavan premises over the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday said that the allegations of misappropriations in the procurement of medicines in the past by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and delay in the dispersal of medicines will be investigated.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, speaking on the border issue with Karnataka in the Legislative Assembly on Monday, said that there should not be any politics on it now.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday said Union Home Minister Amit Shah mediated on the border dispute with Karnataka at the request of Maharashtra while adding that no one should do politics over the matter.
"Karnataka and Maharashtra CMs' talks with Union HM Amit Shah should be made public. We'll support it if the state government brings proposals on the border issues," said Ajit Pawar.
A group of 94 former BMC corporators has written to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, alleging a "lack of transparency" and "corruption" in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation ever since the term of the city's 227 corporators ended this March.
Amid the ongoing Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said that he will talk to Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the issue.
"We have already communicated to them that it will create law and order problem, therefore, it's not the right time to come. I appeal to Maharashtra CM that the matter is in court and fight it legally," said Karnataka CM.
The announcement was made by CM Shinde at the 81st meeting of the board of directors of Maharashtra Airport Development Company.
CM Shinde during the meeting also discussed runway and airport expansion works ongoing at different places in the state.
