The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted moderate spells of rain to likely occur at isolated places of Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Raigad districts during the next 3-4 hours.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will adopt the kids who lost both parents in the recent landslide at Irshalwadi village in Raigad district of the state, said the Shiv Sena.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday expressed grief over the landslide incident in Raigad that killed at least four people. He also announced an aid of five lakh rupees to the families of the deceased, said officials.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday morning arrived at the site of the landslide in Raigad district, where four people were killed and several are feared trapped under debris.
While addressing the media, CM Shinde said, "I have ordered the Commissioner of BMC to assure people get back to their homes safely and rescue those who are stuck in the rain".
"Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar along with the cabinet members were present in the meeting," Maharashtra CMO said.
The Mumbai police said that MP Sanjay Raut had made serious allegations against the Chief Minister's office, stating that dealings are going on with the criminals lodged in the jail from the CM's office.
Even as the fierce power tussle between rival Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) factions, led by Sharad Pawar and his nephew Ajit Pawar, continued in Maharashtra, Chief Minister of the state Eknath Shinde met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray at his residence on Friday.
He further added, "Including three parties presently our MLAs are more than 200. No leader is unhappy and all have faith. Our government is only getting stronger. We have a huge support of PM Modi and Amit Shah," Maharashtra CM said.
"Ajit Pawar has expressed confidence in PM Modi. When Ajit ji decided to join us, Devendra ji, I, and all senior leaders of the party welcomed his decision," he said.
