Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri Maharaj of Juna Akhara on Wednesday said that nearly half of India's population participated in the Maha Kumbh, showcasing India's civilisation and culture to the world.
Rajesh Dwivedi, SSP Maha Kumbh, on Wednesday, said that Prayagraj is witnessing a huge inflow of pilgrims participating in the last 'Snan' of the Maha Kumbh, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri.
Several Akharas participated in the Maha Kumbh, including Niranjani Akhada, Ahwan Akhada, and Juna Akhada, the largest Akhada in the Sanyasi tradition.
Prayagraj District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar emphasised efforts to manage traffic and parking efficiently, ensuring a hassle-free experience for devotees.
Speaking to ANI after inspecting the station ahead of Maha Shivaratri on Tuesday, Vaishnaw emphasised that the passengers were happy with the arrangement.
On witnessing the cultural grandeur on an unparalleled scale, Shekhar told ANI, "...This place is the Sangam of soul, conscience, body...culture, karma, religion. We are fortunate to have this opportunity to come here and take a holy dip..."
"From time immemorial people have been celebrating the Shivratri festivity with great enthusiasm and fervour. Himachal Pradesh is known as the abode of Lord Shiva, the Shivratri Mahotsav celebrated at various places in the state have their own significance," Sukhu said.
Chief Akhilesh Yadav further added, "I think, in the fight between Delhi and Lucknow, they are abusing each other. If the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Board is saying that the water is clean and Delhi's Pollution Board says that the water is bad, it means 'Lucknow' was calling 'Delhi' "Suar."
The Indian Railways has undertaken special arrangements for Maha Shivaratri, planning to run more than 350 additional trains from Prayagraj to facilitate the return of pilgrims following the final Amrit Snan of Mahakumbh 2025 on February 26, said Indian Railway in a statement.
