Among a congregation of over 5.182 million devotees gathered at the Sangam Triveni, 1 million Kalpvasis and 4.182 million pilgrims took a holy dip by 6 PM.
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of the Maha Kumbh Mela, Vivek Chaturvedi on Sunday spoke about the fire that occurred in the Gita Press camp and said that around 70 to 80 huts and eight to ten tents had been burnt.
"The fire that broke out at the Maha Kumbh Mela should be taken cognizance of immediately and seriously and it should be ensured that such an accident does not happen in future," posted Akhilesh Yadav on X.
The fire that broke out at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela being held in Prayagraj was brought under control by the fire tenders present at the spot, as per officials.
Despite the chilly weather and dense fog, a large number of devotees gathered at the sacred Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj to witness the morning Ganga Aarti on the seventh day of the Maha Kumbh Mela.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has instructed authorities to provide free accommodation, food, and medical facilities by preparing the Rajasthan Mandap in Prayagraj for the convenience of devotees travelling from Rajasthan to the Maha Kumbh Mela.
