Police on Thursday arrested two Islamic religious teachers for allegedly torturing a 14-year-old minor student and allegedly teaching the students racism, carrying out Jihadi activities in a non-government Madrasa in Assam's Cachar district.
In his statement to ANI, Barbhuiya said, "Survey of private madrasas will be completed within 6 months. Those that don't have students are being amalgamated. We're focusing on the infrastructure of madrasas".
The Madrasas will have to submit all information, including the location of the institution, teachers' details etc to the Secondary Education department of the state government by December 1 via the organizations under which they operate.
Notably, Maulvi Abdul Samad, was arrested and sent to judical custody for allegedly molesting a 5-year-old girl inside a madrasa in Khandwa district, an official said on Friday.
According to the police, the matter came to light when the 5-year-old complained of chest pain to her parents, following which they registered a complaint at the Moghat police station.
