The Jalandhar Rural Police's CIA team apprehended Sajan Nair, a notorious criminal with 20 heinous cases registered against him, following an encounter near Sura village in Jalandhar, Punjab, on Thursday.
The accused, Deepak, was arrested in Delhi's Rohini area and belongs to the Sonipat district in Haryana. The police seized two firearms and four live cartridges from the accused after a cursory search. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Arms Act.
Four individuals were arrested in Bathinda's Cantt area after a tip-off by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) 2, with weapons and a stolen car recovered. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amneet Kondal confirmed the seizure of two pistols, three magazines, and nine live cartridges.
The arrest was made after the police received secret information. The arrested have been identified as Robinjeet Singh an Harpreet Sing and belonged to the Satta Naushehra Gang.
